Default Help with trim!

I know the areas circled in red shouldn't be silver, right? They should be the same color as the entire paint job as far as I know. I just purchased this 1999 Ranger and want to know if anyone can help me understand how I can fix this.

Can I buy just the trim or will I need paint?

Thanks.

Correct what? It should be the same color? That I need trim? or That I'll need paint?

I was asking what the fix would be.

If I'm not just totally wrong, and I probably am....
That's just aftermarket edge protector. Can be purchased at any automotive store. (autozone, advanced auto, etc) Can get it in chrome, black, gold, many colors.

People put them on for when you open your door and hit something with it it doesn't chip their paint. They serve a good purpose if they didn't just stick out like a sore thumb

theres an easy solution to that, dont open your door into stuff. if your the type of person that cant avoid smashing your door into things, door dings are probably the least of your worries. lol

Fixed it!

Took off that horrible crappy silver and replaced it with a very nice black. Not that I intend to "ding" anything with my doors, but it was easier to do that than to mess with the adhesive remover stuff.

What do you think?

Hey...my very first "mod"! $2.87 at Walmart! LOL

Not everyone intends to open their doors into something. It happens by accident sometimes.

Kindy looks really good. You lucked out youve got a dark color truck. Mine I wouldn't be able to pull the black look off.

Thanks Klinger86!

I like it SO much better. That silver just stuck out SO bad. Actually made it look like the paint was all chipped in that area. Drove me crazy and I've only had the truck 2 days!

I can tell I'm gonna go broke tweeking and upgrading this truck already! Never had a vehicle I really wanted to do anything with before. Got railroaded into driving a stupid, ugly, practical, boring minivan for the past two years...it's not like you can do any mods to that! Well, maybe some HUGE tires! LMAO
