Clay Questions
I was checking out some of the pictures of people using a clay bar. I am on Spring Break this week and I am thinking of doing it to my truck.
How long about will it take?
I have some scratches on my truck that are real small and you can only see them when the sun hits them, Will the clay take those out?
Is it bad to clay too often?
Should you start by washing with something like Dawn or should you wash with a regular carwash?
Sorry for the questions, I have never used a clay bar before and I don't want to mess anything up.

Re: Clay Questions
dirty always wash mine before using the clay bar.
It all depends on the scratches if it will help.
U will wanna clay bar every 3-4 months.
Never wash with dish soap. Use a actuals car wash soap.
It usually takes me 3 hours to do mine

Re: Clay Questions
Thanks STL
I have always used car wash but I know that in the body shops they will use dawn sometimes to remove wax.
Is there any kits to stay away from or exceptionally better than the other?

Re: Clay Questions
Mothers clay bar kit is really good, but dont drop the clay bar. Alot of people will break the clay bar in half in case they drop one, then they can use the other half.

Re: Clay Questions
Meguiars is what u want man. The best methos is to wash dry really good. Then start with one panel (do in shade) work is small areas. Complete the panel. Do feel where u have and haven't been, use the back of ur hand and fingers as it has less oils than the fingertips. After u have clay that panel, wax it with NXT wax. Go to the next panel

as long as it's still clean and you can mold it into a ball after warming up, you're good to go...
