Default confusion with my sandblaster >.< >:@

hey im trying sandblasting for the first time, and both are'nt working like they should. one is a craftsman and the other is a sears. the nozzle for the craftsman looks like this :

for some reason, instead of sucking sand from the container, it blows air through the hose sand is supposed to come from and blows out the container?!!!! i know the air line and sand intake hose are in the right places, just won't work right.

the other is a little different, and works on and off. Sometimes it'll blow sand then the other its like its clogged, next thing ya know its blowing sand again.

I've already blown the lines out plenty of time, and im using around 80-100psi. HELP!

sand maybe to wet too large,, screed it to a smaller size make sure clean and dry. it is only a siphon feed the pressure pots work better

and wear a protective mask sandblasting screws up your lungs from the silica

i sold my sandblaster and now have a soda blaster I love it

i screened it, it felt a little cold so it might have been a little damp, i got two more bags and they are dry, ill try on tomorrow. I looked on another forum and someone said something about priming the sandblaster? what would that mean exactly? and ya i have a good paint respirator mask and googles, sand hurts when its flyin at ur face lol. Whats the difference between a sand and soda blaster besides the soda? how good is it? thanks for the advice, i gotta blast my frame by tomorrow so its a lil pressure >.<

oh why do u think the gun is blowing air down the siphon hose? its not sucking up sand just blowing it back into the container.

what parts are you sand blasting? do not do any blasting to sheet metal. it will warp it to hell. you would be safe using it on the frame, chassis parts, and engine brackets.

Never heard of priming a siphon feed, just stick the tube in the sand pull trigger and hope stuff flys out.hahah thsoda blaster works real well and you can do sheet metal and it will not hurt chrome or glass and it can be washed off the drive. or out of the garage and better for the enviroment instead of using coal slag/black magnum

plus it is pressurized so you get more action

ya I fixed it, turns out a good sized rock got in and was clogging the tip up, so its workin good now. Ya I'd like to look into one of those. I looked some up, but how do you get the soda into the pressurized air tank or whatever.

oh ok. Wouldnt the lid leak air? and I'm guessin when u hole the trigger the soda just goes with the air at the same time? that's cool. is it just like baking soda? i read that's basically what it is. how much it cost you for the system and abrasive?

I paid 100 bucks for th system and 34 bucks for 80 pounds of baking soda media

i bought the small unit as I do not use it on a daily basis, but it works great and I have even used it on wood trim, next will be on a wood door that has a lot of small intricate scrolling , I hate to use the liquid strippers.
