like i said i own my own detailing buss. and from my knowledge using a power washer is fine. i wouldent go using it on a brand new 2010 ferrari but if your going to be detailing a truck anyways its no big deal. i did a 1989 vette over the summer for a customer. orange peel oxidization scratches you name it along with a soft top. my gf was able to do her makeup in the paint when i was done. mind you i used a powerwasher to start. mothers products are good i will give them that if i am not using my auto magic thats runner up.

3m hand glaze works great. even of freshly painted things wax cant be used on fresh paint bc it will trap the solvents then cause hazziness later. claybar is great but if it gets anything stuck in it it will scratch the fire out of your paint.

heres a couple of picks of my work of what i got the black paint to on my hemi wagon.
shes an '06 and i got 57k miles on her. brilliant black pearl but it is a cloudy day so you really cant see the pearl sparkle.

i really like the meguires stuff too. clay bar, deep crystal polish and nxt 2.0 liquid. i also like to use a da polisher every once and a while with something like meguires #9 swirl remover 2.0 with a wool pad then a foam pad. its not aggressive at all and really pops when your done.

one tip for helping reduce making more swirl marks on your paint (especially black cars) is to spray a small amount of quick detailer on any towel you are using to dry the car or to remove any polish/wax. This lubricates the towel and helps prevent adding swirls and such as you wash. Only do 1-2 sprays on your towel, if you put too much on, you will notice smearing and marring.

i just wash it at least once a week with miguires car wash i found at wally world (its purple..), make sure its dry when im done, and wax it twice a year. im sure its nowhere near as nice as some of the other black trucks on here but it does the trick to keep it looking nice.... i did the same with my monte carlo (although it is red) and had people ask me all the time if i had the car painted, ect.... no one could belive i just washed it frequently.
