I agree. Sand and repaint.Possibly there was a cheaper quality paint used on the A/M cover. Possible the based hadn't "flashed" properly prior to clear. Nothing you can do to stop it or reverse it

ok, but is there anything that i can get to just make the peeling stop. i just care about getting the clear coat back to normal. would clear paint be good enuff? i guess re-painting it would be nice to.

you have to get a razor blade and carefully scrape off the loose clear and then sand it with 1200 or finer grit wet sandpaper. Then you have yo spray clear. If you want to do it the right way use 320 all around the area and then repaint it and use adhesion bonder with both, it prevents peeling. I work in a body shop lol.

nothin you can do, either they used cheap paint line or non compatable base/clear.. some base coats contain paraffin wax, if base coat sits to long wax floats to surface, creating poor adhesion (Dupont being one)... I wld suggest sanding past base coat, prime, wet sand, re base, clear...... Duponts 222S is the best adhesion promoter on the market to date..
