Post Windows produce foggy film when raining...

Hey everyone. Last night I was driving home from work and it's pouring down raining down here. Every time it rains, my windshield would produce a fog like film on the outside of the windshield. When I go to use my wipers, it wipes it away but immediately comes right back. It also does it to my rear view mirror and sometimes the back. I went to a gas station to try and clean off the outside windshield but no improvement. Maybe it's the type of stuff I'm using to clean the windows? I'm using Rain-X window cleaner with rain repellent. I don't know but I'm starting to get tired of it fogging up on me. Any suggestion on what to do would be nice. Thank you

I would put on the defrost and nothing happens. Then I would turn it off and put the windows down a crack (because it's raining) and still does it. So I don't know. It stopped raining now and sun is coming out so I'll see what it does tonight. Thanks you two.

Clean them with windex or any ammonia based window cleaner and see if it happens again

Yeah, it started to rain again, and it happened again! Once the rain stops, I'm going to try just that.

Rain-X contains a silicate based component that repels the water. This silicate will cause a type of film when light misting rain and environmental contaminates coat the windshield. Like Clinton said, clean the windshield with ammonia. You also stated that it sometimes happens to the inside too? If you smoke in the truck the tar and nicotine will coat the interior with a film that once condensate hits it will cause a hazy film.

I do not smoke but I will try just that once it stops raining and see what happens. Now ammonia, like windex? Or what?

You can buy ammonia in the cleaning isle of the grocery store. I use the lemon scented version to kind of cut down on the chemical smell. While Windex has it in the solution, pure cleaning ammonia tends to cut down on the streaks some what. I usually clean my interior windows twice to cut the crap.

As for being back........ I'm kinda like genital herpes, I pop up every once in a while.

I got caught (am caught) in the same rain in the DC area. same thing happened to me today on my way home. I have brand new wipers, so its hard telling what does it. It's gotta be something on the glass that is smearing with the water. Ima try the same thing after the rain.

If the rain down here will ever stop you know. But better than being scorching hot out.
