Default car wash swirl marks

Anyone know how to get rid of these ? Every time I go to the car wash , I see more of these . I know a compound would prob do the job , but was looking for something a little less expensive ....

DONT ever use the brush at manual carwashes or go to a grush style car wash. I ONLY use touchless Laser Carwashes

Doesn't clay bar & buffing combo take care of these? That's why I only hand wash with a mit but after 3 years even I have some light ones.

as long as you continue to go through brushed car washes i wouldnt waste your time buffing the swirl marks out because you will keep getting them. like scott said, touch less car washes or hand washing are the only way to go if you want to keep your paint scratch free.

I tried the clay bar a couple of weeks ago but afterwards , in sunlight , I saw the swirls everywhere .... Think I'll take your advice , and only use touchless or use the high pressure hose car washes have and detail the rest myself .

Thanks Guys ...

clayying does not I dont think> it may remove light ones though. Even washing with a mitt will micromar the paint.

like above, anytime you rub your paint it will leave some kid of micromarring. but you can reduce it with things like microfiber and stuff. just leave the brushes along, they are not allowed on paint.

yeah the claybar is to remove contaminants, not really swirls. However, Meguiars does have a swirl remover that can be used on a DA Polisher that can probably remove them for you.

yeah, a claybar will not remove any actual paint defects... it is only designed to remove surface debris "stuck" in your clear coat/paint. As a matter of fact, if you have a lot of swirls/scratches all over your car, they will become much more noticeable after a claybar application. Sounds like you need to find a touchless car wash, and get a nice polish job on your paint. It also sounds like you will need a machine to aid in the removal of your swirls.... post up some pics of the actual swirls on your vehicle and I'll be able to tell you the best/cheapest way to go about fixing them, or if it's something that should be left to the professional.

luckily there's a touchless drivethru carwash 5 mins from my work.

for self-washing, really the only way to guarantee no swirl marks is to pressure wash with soap and then dry with either a california water blade or a leafblower.

What color is your truck? Color can make a difference as to how noticeable swirls are. I know I'll never own another black vehicle!
