Decided to detail my truck on Sunday.
-Dawn detergent (only reason why this was used was because I wanted to ensure all previous waxes were fully removed, I would not recommend using soap detergent for every wash)
-Meguiar's Mild Clay
-Meguiar's Last Touch Spray (Clay Lube)
-Various All-Purpose Cleaners/Degreasers from Meguiar's line
-Menzerna's Finishing Polish
-Meguiar's Hyperdressing (for tires)
-Meguiar's NXT metal polish for wheels
-Zaino Z-2 (combined with Zaino ZFX)
-MF towels and other detailing accessories
a pic of some of the stuff:
-Used my foam gun to presoak the truck, while I cleaned the wheels/wheel wells
-Sprayed truck with foam gun again and washed it
-Rinsed and dried
-Clay-barred the truck
-Used Menzerna SIP on rotary with CCS orange pad for some scratch removal
-Used Menzerna Finishing polish on rotary with CCS white pad to enhance gloss
-used powerball and NXT metal polish on wheels/tool box
This is where the Zaino protection began.
-Used Zaino Z-CS on truck's paint, chrome, wheels and tool box
-applied Zaino Z-6
-Mixed Zaino Z-2 with the ZFX. I mixed 1.5 ounces of Z-2 as .5oz usually lasts for about 1 coat and I wanted to get 3 coats on there, as Zaino only really works in layers.
-Put a coat of Z-2 on there and waited 20-30 min, removed.
-Put a coat of the Z-6 again
-Put a coat of the Z-2 and waited 20-30 min, removed
-I ended putting a total of 5 coats of the Z-6 (goes by quick as it's just a spray you spray and buff off) and 3 coats of Z-2, much like a normal wax/sealant)
-While the last coat of Z-2 sat on the truck, I dressed the tires, wheel wells in hyperdressing, and cleaned exterior glass.
Total time was about 5 hours
On a side note, this probably my favorite finish on the truck as the silver on Rangers doesn't have much "pop" to it, and I really like how slick and clean this stuff makes the paint feel and look.
