I wash it when it rains or when I finally get the urge. Having a fire red car does hide the dirt even if it is a cop magnet. My stickers don't help much either.

I wash my truck every other week. Sometimes, once a month.

Don't quote me on it, but I have been told that waxing too often can hurt the clear coat as every time you wax, it takes some clear coat with it. As to the validity of that I'm not sure.

After googling it, no it doesnt seem to matter. The real signifigance is buffing with a buffer because then you are removing clearcoat. But regular hand waxing should be ok. So i retract my earlier statement

Just throwing it out there, my truck is 10 years old now and for the first 7 years it was kept outside, but my grandfather waxed a part of it every week (top, hood, sides, etc.) so each part would get waxed at least every other month. I have kept up with this tradition and it is still not garaged. I clay bar it once a year, and I don't think my grandfather even knew what that was so that is recently new, but my paint is immaculate. Definitely no signs of harm from consistent waxing.

Can still see the reflection of the ground.

^^ Same color as my truck! Someone told me after I got my truck that this color of paint is bad to fade. I have seen cars and trucks with Silver, Black and Burgundy to name a few where the paint has faded but I think this is from lack of maintenace to the paint than anything else. The faded areas were the hood, roof and trunk. I think that today's waxes contain some type of UV protectors to help with this issue.

Thanks Dixie! I don't own a buffer so I only hand wax.

well, im gonna have to have the truck buffed, i put a small scratch on the truck the other day snow wheeling. very light scratch, but I know its there and its pissing me off. THe truck needs a good buffing anyway, the nice granite quarry I work at has my paint swirled from the granite dust that rests on the truck M-F. It doesnt matter how good you rinse it, it will still be there

Ya man, this truck has not faded one bit. It looks better than a couple of my friends' 07-08 trucks. My truck is the same color as your truck? I could be wrong, but isn't your truck white?

Well dang! Now your truck is a different color! Either my eyes are going out of whack or my monitor! It looked silver when I first saw it.
Mine is Metalic Silver which is hard to photograph it's true color due to the high reflectivity of the paint.
