i would scrub them down, then use a 0000 bronze wool to clean them up. The bronze is softer than the steel wool so it wont leave as many scratches. Then use your prefered metal polish

Can you get the bronze wool at Wal-Mart? Should I go to Lowe's? I think I might try the lime juice with the bronze wool.

I thought about taking it to the shop and seeing what they could do but I think the tips would be to far back under the truck.

You could get a clamp on tip if the corrosion is too much trouble removing. Lots of choices and prices.

Turtle wax chrome polish and a rag, that shiny works amazing on stuff like that and it's cheap

Looks like the chrome is peeling to me. I'd cut them off and replace with stainless myself. Even if you make them look pretty good they will look the same as they do now in no time.

Putting chrome exhaust tips over a stainless tail pipe......oh well lesson learned.

There's no Chrome left to polish out so you need to get new ones. Are those slip on chrome tip covers or what?

They are not slip on tips. They are welded on. I just thought it was surface rust and carbon build up. Going to take it to the shop Monday to see what he can do. I'm off tomorrow so I'm gonna see if u can get them cleaned and how bad they are.... kinda curious.
