Default Some tips/products i reccomend

These are just my reccomendations but i think some of these are great compared to other products of the same line. Alot of these things are consumer grade products, some may also seem "obvious" so dont bash me.

Rags: Ive tried microfiber and other synthetic rags but i still prefer leather rags to dry my car. They dont leave streaks and they wring out easily. Theyre not as cheap as microfiber at around $10-20(depending on size)but if youve never tried a leather chamois id reccommend you try it. I still use microfiber to clean obscure parts of my vehicle that i know will get my leather rags dirty. Try to find sheepskin leather!

Meguiars deep crystal car wash: its cheap and doesnt strip wax... It also smells nice..price is something like under $5 bucks a gallon. I dont think this soap is superior to everything else but i just clean off dust most of the time.

Mothers Clay Bar: I much preferred this clay over Meguiars. To me the meguiars seemed to stick and smear at times. I dont know if theyre different compounds but i liked this more. The kit runs around $20 and includes 2bars, a microfiber cloth and detailing spray.

Scotchguard:Another amazing product. This helps protect fabrics from being stained. Its acts like a wax for your seat. It basically waterproofs the fabric preventing liquid stains such as coffee or soda from being absorbed by beading the liquids off. Price is a little pricier at $7-10

Tuffstuff foam cleaner: All around cheap multipurpose upholstery/carpet cleaner. It doesnt have a pungently clean odor to it when dry like other products ive tried. Price is cheap at $3-4

Collinite 845: i found out about this product through FRF. Its an excellent year round wax. It leaves a nice shine but more importantly it protects the paint and lasts a good while before needing to rewax again. It isnt very cheap but at around $20 its well worth it. Alot of people seem to think this is the holy grail of car waxes.

Bleche white:
This shit is fucking fantastic at cleaning tires. I think its mainly designed to clean whitewalls/letters but it does a fantastic job at cleaning the whole tire. You literally spray this thing on and watch all the dirt and grease melt away from the tire. I usually get the tire wet, spray it on, and brush the tire with a plastic bristle brush. The downside is the spray bottle feels like it empties somewhat quickly. It is also somewhat caustic for those of you with girly hands. Price is like $3-4

Ajax:
I mainly use this to clean all the grease and grime on my hands after turning a wrench. Much like the bleche white i just sprinkle a little bit of this powder on my hands and the grease runs off with water. I think its better then the (goop, orange clean) pumice hand cleaners. I dont like those because i feel like i have to spend a good while cleaning my hands and my hands feel all buttery in the process. This shit is dirt cheap at like $1 and lasts a long time. It also works very well for cleaning off skid marks/paint transfers off from paint.

Im still looking for a good interior cleaner/protectant if anyone wants to reccommend me anything. The last product i tried was lucas slick mist interior detailer. It has a STRONG cinnamon-y aroma to it. The shine factor is also "out there" i DO NOT reccommend it. Im looking for a non greasy/shiny, basically stock feeling interior detailer.

Im also debating using a tire shine. I like tire shine but i feel like over time it gets impregnated on the tire and makes it filthy.

303 Aerospace Protectant.

Leaves a 100% Stock like appearance once applied.

Great product for anyone not wanting the cheap greasy and/or shiny look (w/o any smell also).

Diesel fuel in a spray bottle. Doesn't harm paint and it's the best bug and tar remover known to man.

Well my two cents here is driwash products. Have not washed and waxed a car since 1993. Expensive, but not only time savings, but also excellent UV protection. Important to have good UV protection in Arizona.
Disclaimer is I used to be a distributor, but buy the stuff now on eBay as it's cheaper than my distributor prices.
I also agree that 303 is an excellent product. Keeps convertible tops protected.
Have a nice day, Bill
