Re: Vehicle Care After Off Roading?
Welcome to the forum!
Since you drove through water (which is never a really good idea, unless we're talking puddles), check your differentials, transfer case, and transmission fluids respectively for water and contamination. If there is evidence of which, fluid of course must be changed in the offending unit. Would be worth checking your engine oil too since you're already at it. If the trails were particularly dusty, it's not a bad idea to blow out your air filter, or replace it all together if it's old. While you have the air filter out, it's a good idea to look in the bottom half, see if any dirt is building up, clean it out appropriately if need be.
As for everything else, rinse off all the dirt and dust from the paint very well before scrubbing, then wash as normal; else you scratch up your paint, sliding the minerals around in your rag.
If you own one, pressure-washing the undercarriage is a good idea too. Once it's clean, check around for general damage; anything that stands out.
PS: A good waxing once it's clean and dried off would be a good idea. Makes your paint shine, smooth, and protects it too; if you haven't waxed it already.
