Re: Ford Ranger Paint
You need to know how to compound. This is what I do on mine. I have done detailing for a long time.
First wash the Ranger. Second, put your fingers in a plastic baggie and rub your fingers across the paint. If you feel little bumps, get a clay bar kit from auto parts store, etc., and clay bar your Ranger to make the paint smooth. Next, I suggest that you buy a dual action, (DA), buffer and an orange foam pad. (Harbor Freight is probably cheapest place.) Use a very micro fine creamy polishing compound or metal polish. Do NOT use an abrasive compound that is for strong cutting of the paint. (I like the Ultraluster.com metal polish brand myself.) Buff the paint and wash off the residue. Then, wax it and it will look great!
