Default Cleaning tree debris around windahield molding

I need some advice. I have been fighting tree debris that gets caught around my windshield molding and where the gap where the fenders meet the cowl. I don't want the stuff to accumulate because it will promote rust and looks terrible. Currently I use an old credit card that I cut a hook in to pull out the crap. Is there a better way? Any way to stop it? I don't have a garage and have to park under a tree. Thanks.

I typically just hose it out with the garden hose, using a "jet" setting spray nozzle. usually the first couple of times it will take a while to get all the crap loose but after a while it should rinse out clean.

I've got an aspen tree next to my driveway that drops little fuzzy things all over my cars every spring, damn things stain the paint purple if I let 'em sit more than a day. I've even gone so far as to use a tarp or car cover in the spring to keep them off.
