I ran across these two methods on another forum that look promising. With the heat gun, even if it isn't a complete success, there many of other uses for one, so it wouldn't be a complete waste. Peanut butter is cheap, so it's a win either way.

Turtle Wax Ice synthetic wax; especially the liquid one. The liquid one is the only one I don't like for waxing my truck, so I started using it on plastics. It's awesome and lasts for months. The paste wax and spray wax will work well, too. I used to use tire shine every time I detailed, now I use this stuff, but it lasts in between washes unlike tire shine. It's nice because since it's wax, it polishes right off the paint and glass if you miss .
