I didn't do step by step pics. I'll try to give you step by step instructions though

Scrub the whole underneath with PURPLE POWER straight, dont add water, (use rubber gloves and wear long sleeves, face shield and pants)

Use a pressure washer to rinse all that you cleaned with PURPLE POWER

Allow time to dry... I used a kerosene torpedo heater to dry mine quicker

Using a drill and or grinder with a paint/rust stripping pad remove paint and rust. I found it easier to use the pads instead of the wire wheel, it went alot faster especially with the grinder but you WILL need ALOT of stripping pads, they are not cheap! also wear eye protection and a face mask

When all the paint and rust is removed use an air compressor and shoot the whole underneath clearing away dust residue and so on

Use painters tape, tape off grease fittings, shocks, bushings and anything else you do not want paint to get on....Cardboard is a life saver with this as well for bigger things to be taped off

I used VHT rollbar and chassis paint/undercoat. I used black satin and high gloss black. 2 coats of satin final coat gloss. i let it dry about 30 mins between coats.
Let the last coat dry for atleast a day before you drive the truck.

Any questions PM me....in case I left anything out.
here are some pics of when i did my step bars the same way

I actually am thinking of bedlining my frame. I emalied herculiner and this is what they said. Hope this helps.

Rust is the oxidation of iron. It needs oxygen
and water to continue to corrode the metal. Herculiner requires a sound
surface to adhere to, therefore remove as much rust as possible to ensure
proper adhesion of the Herculiner.

For good adhesion on the bare metal, it is recommended that you prime the
surface with a self etching primer or you can purchase an all surface
primer from Sherwin/Williams P/N 6403-26062.
