A rug scrubber and simple green is what I typically use but the seat cover removal and washing machine idea might have some merit. The amount of time I spent scrubbing last time was insane. It might actually save me some time going that route...

I haven't had the seat covers off in the Ranger yet but the CR-V has a strip and channel type deal on the back cover on the bottom and some retention springs up a little higher that hook on the metal structure. Rangers should be similar. The rest should just slip off. I haven't looked at the bottom cusion but I'm thinking there will be some wire hooks around the bottom edge for that. The fit will be snug but not bad.

Thumbs up Re: cleaning seats

I just took the seats out of truck and unbolted the top from the bottom. The covers are hook to the frame on all four sides of the bottom the top is hook together at the bootom and then slide covers off there is velcro that is used to hold cover to the foam.

steam clean em, or use a carpet clean with a upholstery attachment. You can also look at the interior cleaning thread in this section.

This is from about a year and /12 ago when i had the old seats

i would only wash them by hand

1st i took the covers off the seats and washed them

than cleaned the vinal and all the interior plastics (that's the 1stime in a long time i cleaned them too)

and put all back together
the only real pain the the a@@ to put back together was the 60 seat with arm rest

Dixie is right, use the bissel green machine with a heater, it has a powerful extractor and i use it on my ranger and the cloth things i pull from junk yards and the come out new! The hot water is the best thing for it and the bieel solution really leaves them smelling great! it takes maybe a day to dry or half that if its a hot day, But its well worth it, i use that little machine for all my detailing jobs and there hasnt been a thing that it hasn't gotten clean!

What's the best why to get a petroleum product out of a cloth bench? I got some Chevron Fuel Injector cleaner yesterday and the GD seal was broken and some leaked out onto my otherwise spotless truck .
