I need a DA buffer.
Hey guys. So yesterday I looked at the truck while the sun was hitting it and I saw those streak marks that you get when you don't buff right with a buffer. I had and used a orbital buffer and that is why it's there. So what I need is a inexpensive DA buffer to take out these streak marks. Any suggestion? I was looking at the Meguairs one but is there any inexpensive one yall can point me to? I appreciate any help and suggestions. Thank you!

Re: I need a DA buffer.
You dont need a buffer to take the streaks out. Apply your wax with an orbital buffer and take it off by hand with micrfiber or terry cloth. I did that all the time in my detailing business and it cames out great. When using a buffer to remove the wax, the bonnets will clog causing the smears so you're better off taking the wax off by hand

Well, I'm using that Auto Glym wax that Dixie posted about. And I'm putting it on by hand and taking it off by hand...?

Re: I need a DA buffer.
Yes, put it on by hand or buffer but no matter how you apply it, take it OFF by hand. When you take it off by hand, change cloths so you arent smearing the wax all over. It will build up so a truck like yours I would use atleast 4 cloths

Thank you! I'm gonna try that hopefully Sunday (Saturday having a party). I've actually been using like one possibly two cloths to take the wax off but I'll do like 4 or 5 just to be on the safe side. Should I use compound to take the smears off first or a simple wash and then wax it again? I might (this time) do a clay bar step in the process.

Re: I need a DA buffer.
Compound isnt necessary for the smears, the wax should correct it. But to get a better quality shine and the nice "wet" look, compound first then wax or clay bar it, use cleaner wax, then the Glym.
