So the "ledge" area where the jumper seat use to be is 6" and basically I could work around the other dimensions but it like it to be flush to that "ledge" area. So I decided to take it apart and here its all it is, it also had some white foam insulation inside the tube. I could do a round hole on the side to mount that amp like it was mounted at the end of the tube.

Must be about 50 watts eh?

I'd like to take a look at the tube it was in someday, might be able learn something from it.

Yup, that would work for the mounting idea, just need some good thin weather stripping with 2 side adhesive to seal it up right.

Punching some numbers into that program based around the 6" depth(?)

----------

It's gonna be pretty wide (20+ inches) to fit in that 6" depth

I assumed it would be wide, it's supposed to be 100w, I know it's no competition setup but it worked pretty good beside the tube shape.

Got something thats 13h x 23w x 6d With a 3" round port 21" long makes it tuned to 39hz.

As a refernce i'm tuned to 32hz to hit the low-lows

So what kind of tube I should use for that 3 inch port.

DWV pipe will work (normal household plumbing stuff) for your application

It will need a 90 elbow though, the port is almost the same length as the width of the box.

Unless you are ok with an inch or two of the port being external.

Not sure how to calculate the "total equivilent length" of the 90 as it will effect the length (shortening it) because of airflow resistance.

i could re-do the numbers quickly and see how a slot ported design like mine would work. i know it would be shorter but wider enclosure if thats acceptable.

----------

Would 10h x 28w x 6d work for you? it will have a 8.5 x 0.75 sized port 24" long

Thats the slot ported dimensions i came up with, it's also tuned a little lower @ 36hz

edit - forgot to add, this slot design will only work if the sub mounting depth is less than 3.75"

The sub gets in like 5" deep so I guess it wouldn't work, I think the tube could be simpler.

fabrication wise hell yeah, just figuring out that T.E.L. of the 90 properly might affect the tuning a bit.

Not that it would make a huge difference not factoring that in, it would just lower the tune a bit if anything.

You aren't aiming for a real specific frequency anyways, i just like to know the exact numbers

Lol yeah I was just going to wing it first so it's nice to get some insight. Are you supposed to only glue the box together or can you use a nail gun to. How would you secure the tube inside the box.

Looks good, looking forward to hearing what it sounds like.

Did you use any of the dimensions i put up?

If not i can give you and idea of what it's tuned to if you give me some numbers.

edit - Didn't get a notification of your post last night, sorry i didn't reply

----------

I use a program called Torres for doing my box calculations, i've read that the RE calculator online is unreliable.

No I ended up going 22w 13.5h 7d 1.75 gap 19 long and I routed both side for a smoother transition in it.. Sound louder for sure but no clue if that's actually better.

From those #'s you are tuned around 43hz, probably a good number for that unit.
