Electric Brake Controller
08 ranger. Want to install electric brake controller. Have 6x10 enclosed trailer with electric brakes on it. What kind and price where to buy one. Have 7 pin trailer plug already.

I think this is what is in my truck. I've used several over the years in different vehicles and I'm not saying one is better than the other. As long as the gain adjustment works and the trailer brakes work I'm happy

Yes you have to hook it up, it's how the controller knows you are hitting the brakes. I scotch locked it at the brake pedal switch, purple/white wire I think is the one I used.

Should be the purple and white one on a 2008, just double check with a test light before you hook up the controller, otherwise you could damage it.

Ok now what to do. Both sides of brake switch r hot. When I push on brake pedal they r not hot anymore. Brake lights work

the circuit is a grounding circuit so when your not pushing the brakes power is back feeding through the bulb i can check a diagram for you now
