So i recently got a 1996 Ranger XLT, for my birthday. It was given to me by my great grandpa. the ranger it self is in perfect condition! no scratches or anything! but i looked at the radio and i new the must go! So i have and aftermarket Alpine CDA-9805, and i want to put that in for the sub i have for it.. but their is problem, i don't know how to install it. should i just have best buy do it or can anyone help? btw it my first post!

You need 2 things, a wiring diagram for the truck and for the radio. With those you should be able to do it.

Search the forum, someone just posted up a wiring diagram. And when I put my stereo in the packages had all the labels I need, plus I had my chiltons and hanes manuals with me that made it easier

you can buy a haness at wally world for 8 bucks that has all the pig tails you need to set everything up. just hafta plug it in. You will hafta hook up you stero pig tails wires to the wires on the harness but they will color coded, just match color to color. read the back of the package to make sure it fits your year

if you want to make it super simple call up crutchfield and get there harness and install kit designed for youre truck, there will be no cutting or splicing involved and makes the install easy. they have great instructions too.

with the right parts an in dash radio in any ranger 94 and up should take about 5 minutes... call crutchfield or go to best buy... they will give you the right parts... oh and your alpine has a wiring diagram on the top of the radio on a silver sticker. If you get a metra branded kit and harness the dash kit is a 99-5600 and the wiring harness is a 70-1770
