My stock radio in my 1992 ranger starts top play when I start the truck or turn the key to have electrical on BUT then fades as though it loses juice.

Any ideas what it could be?

It's the factory radio from 1992? Get a new one and start with that.

I'm gonna take an educated guess. It probably is the stock radio. I think a capacitor is failing inside. It will take a charge when turned on, but it is leaking it's charge.

Unless you have some sentimental value, replace the radio.

Mike, I think you're right.

It wasn't sentamental, it would have been nice if it was an easy fix, but I aint gonna repair it to save it.
