Default iPod issues with Kenwood DDX370 head unit

Everything is mounted up and installed in the Explorer. One issue. My iPod gets recognized by my Kenwood, charges it, and I have full control all the music on it. I select a song, it says it's playing, but I get no sound. I switch it to CD and everything works perfectly. Same with AM and FM. I figured I'd switch to my brother's 4th gen iPod touch. His is still on iOS 5. Mine is fully updated on iOS 6. His did the same thing. I plugged my friend Zach's iPhone 4S into it. Guess what? Same thing. I then decided to restore my iPod completely. After waiting an hour and a half, my iPod was finished. Same exact problem. Kenwood is closed so I can't get through to their support line until tomorrow morning. Anyone have any ideas?

----------

Oh. The head until is a DDX370 and the iPod is a 4th gen touch running the most recent version of iOS 6.

When you first start up the headunit, there are two options when it comes to the usb input.
If you select the iPod option, you get no sound. It is designed for the optional iPod cable from Kenwood.
You have to select the other usb option.

So, turn your deck on, press the reset button to the left of the disc slot, and restart the initial settings menu. The crappy part is this is the only time you can change that option.

Hope it all works out for you.

Also, Kenwood just released a significant update for that radio that helps with iPod stability. Its on their website and its free you just need to download it and put it on a USB drive. Takes about 20-30 minutes to do if you do it.

I actually went and bought the Kenwood USB cable at Best Buy earlier. Same thing. I'll reset in and mess with the settings and then go ahead and update the software. Thanks guys. I'll keep you posted.

I called Kenwood and they made sure AV-2 was set to iPod.

In case anyone is interested for future reference, you select all sources, standby. After its in standby, select setup. Input. And the first option on input is AV-2. Make sure iPod is selected.

I did all of this and still nothing. Turns out I'm using the wrong Kenwood cable. The KCA-ip202 is designed for the ddx370 and I'm using a different one. So off to best buy I go.

Plugged in the IP202 cable. Still nothing. Went back through the standby process and into input. Instead of having iPod highlighted in purple, highlight AV-2. Fixed everything. It all works now.

I had an eXcelon X396 in my Tahoe. Looked a lot like that one. I liked it.
