Default Big 3 Question/ Crossover Question

First, I was looking at doing the big three an have been reading about our trucks.
Now, my question is about the alternator positive, does it have to run through the fuse next to the under hood fuse box and can I change it to another amperage?

Also, about the grounds, I see the one Ford used for alt - to chassis but it looks to be a bitch to get to.

Can I do my own elsewhere? Just ground from a stud on the motor somewhere back to chassis? And does my new alt- wire have to be then grounded to my frame ground?

I think I said that right. I know I've seen before in some big 3's two grounds being hooked together and grounded elsewhere.

-------------------------------------
Other topic. Crossover question.

I have the RF T1 component sets with the passive crossovers. Previously my tweeter output on it blew and no longer works but both inputs and the woofer output work fine. I had the crossovers biamped on the same amp with tweet inputs on front channels and woofer inputs on rear channels. Worked for a little over a year and half. Now I have the T1 tweeter set with its own crossover on the front channels and the woofers on the rear but only using one of the inputs and one output on the original crossover.

I just want to ditch the crossover but my question is will my mid fry from sending it high frequencies it can't play?

Remember these are Rf t1 components on a rf t4004 that's 85 wrms x 4 which is over by 10 for the tweeter but under rms for the mid. I just don't wanna fry my mid have to hunt another.

Thanks guys,

I would not change the amperage of any of the installed fuses. They help keep the truck from turning into a crispy critter on the side of the road.

Your gains should be set correctly so that the correct amount of power is sent to each driver. Use the DMM method so that you are sure you are sending 75 watts RMS to the tweeter and 85 watts RMS to the woofer.

Thanks glh but my main concern was not answered. Do I have to use the crossover for the mid? Will the higher frequencies it can't play harm it?

You should see about getting a replacement.

No you do not have to use a crossover on your mid. It will not hurt the driver.
