My little 5 1/4 build.! :)
Hey guys so I thought I would share this with you guys. I bought a tangband (5 1/4) subwoofer from amazon. I chose the size because I wanted a little challenge plus I didn't want my truck to rattle or hear me from a block away. The first problem I came across with this build was finding a box for my speaker. I called various audio shops and looked around Craigslist but either they told me it was impossible or charged me 120-150 to build me a box. I said heck no and took charge of the box. I had a broken Logitech x-540 5.1 surround sound that had token a dump on me. The box is a good size and fits in my truck nicely. The problem I encountered with the box was that the sub on the box was 3 inches so it didn't fit right. I went to my local Home Depot and got some sand paper and sanded down the hole and made it wider. Now all I need is a terminal cup, amp, silicone, and wire to finish up my little project I have going on.
Ill attach some pictures of the box, sub, and sand paper.
=D

Hmm why not just build your own box based in the subs t/s parameters? Othwrwise, thats a cool idea :-)

Re: My little 5 1/4 build.! :)
No offense to drumsforjs, but this is freeaking funny as helll!! Oh my goddd a 5 1/4 sub? My computer audio system has a sub that size. This is so funny oh my god and then to connect an amp to it.... My 10 inch shallow sub bumps good inside the cab and you cannot hear me blocks away. I want my system to bump inside the ranger and it works for me. A 5 1/4 sub will not make u feel the music it will be a waste of time and effort and you wont be happy. And to make it worse its for an extended cab this is funny. I am waiting on GLH's input, that will be funny.

I read all these comments and get a laugh at it. It might not be your likings but it sound good to my ears. It might not rattle my car but it gives a really nice low hit and nice sounding bass. That's l I wanted in my truck now on to getting a lift kit.!

Re: My little 5 1/4 build.! :)
The most important thing is what works for you, What you want and what you like, its your truck. That is all that matters. I know with my ten inch shallow I can definitely feel the music even though some might say they are not good.
