Default Aux Input not working

Hey forum, so I got a used 2008 ford ranger a few days ago, and it's all good except when I try to play my iPod through the factory installed aux input nothing happens, I've tired multiple cords and devices and they're not the problem.
Any suggestions??

Thanks, Stephen

If you want iPod control and good sound, install an aftermarket Pioneer with USB input. Those stock headunits are POS.

See here: 03 Ranger AUX input on Factory Radio

The AUX input jack (3.5mm stereo) has a normal shielded audio cable going to the radio's 20-pin plug (pins 1 thru 4). Was the wire unplugged or severed? Is your input jack damaged?

Hey yeah that's an option, I'd rather stay with my stock head unit because I'm goin to school right now and kinda low on cash haha

I took off The plastic cover where the aux input was and as far as I could see there was no damage, I couldn't see of it would be disconnected at the head unit though because I didn't have the proper tools to remove it.

I heard you can also bend a coat hanger into a 'U' shape and use that as well, might have to try that one
