I have the 290watt in dash 6 disc so i don't want to go aftermarket. I want to use it basically for an ipod but if it works with other stuff thats a plus. I have had a number of fm transmitters and feel as if i have been ripped off every time.

Modulators are a totally different animal than a transmitter. Modulators create a radio station behind your radio.. As where a transmitter totally sucks bc it bounces off local radio stations.

I see your an installer so here is a tech question if you dont mind. I see in the pic that they have a power and ground wire where do those go? If i pick one of these up I want to make sure I wire it up the best way not my way if you know what I mean.

Good name by the way

The hot and ground wire are meant to be hooked up to switch power, so that the modulator turns on and off with the key. You can find switch power from the ignition harness or from the radio harness. Radio harness being the easier way. Either way you'll need a tech sheet for the proper wire colors (which I can supply if needed).

Lol just saw the name thing... 2 drews don't make a right ya know.haha

We used these at Circuit City when people would buy overhead dvd players. A lot of times they would want the audio modulated and the player either didnt have a built in one, or it was too weak. This works pretty dang well. It wont be pure digital but sounds pretty close. Since it is hard wired in, you wont have the interference that you have with wireless ones. I'm sure you'll enjoy this.

I installed a cd changer in a jag that uses a modulator, and it worked well.

Glad you found one elsewhere, crutchfield can be overpriced. My parents suburban has one for the rear seat video seat and it works great once they figured out what stations it modulated. lol
