If you were considering round subs, this might be something you would be interested in:

Very similar to what you had posted originally.

I have one now and it works great, I dont listen to low end bass but I do get 120 db thumps when I want em.

Also check this link, may find something useful in there:

It does look pretty similar! I already bought the 1 l5 12 though, so what I'm going to do it just modify that box to fit 1 square 12 instead of 2 12'' circles. Thanks so much for the links though, definitely going to take a further look at that box design & also the tips. ;D

A small sealed box doesn't sound bad with a Kicker Comp 10", if your music preferences fit, such as country, metal, rock. Even a sealed box can benefit from a subsonic filter (such as 35 hz highpass), especially if you don't particularly care for the really low bottom end stuff found in alot of rap, hiphop, dubstep, etc. I just set the lowpass of my headunit to 100 hz and set the amp on 30 hz highpass.
Well I listen to a lot of music. I love dubstep and hip hop actually. It depends on how low you're talking. Hopefully the box will still sound good though ;P I appreciate the feedback though.

Just a quick update for everyone else, we SHOULD be building the box next weekend. For those asking why I can't right now, its because I'm in college living in dorms and don't have the materials needed. We're going to do the build at my friends grandparents house where apparently they will have everything we need. (except the 3/4 MDF sheets, which we'll buy.) I'm super excited to get this build going! Anyone know where a good place to get 3/4 MDF sheets would be? And how many do you think i'll need? 2? THANKS!

You should post up pics of your box when you finish it. Im planning on building my box over winter break too. Im going to do a box similar in shape to the first one with 4 kickers in it but I will only have two 10's facing up and my 2 amps will be mounted in the middle. Also to keep that space useable I will put a sheet to plexiglass maybe 2" above.
