Since you have a regular cab, you won't be needing to buy 2 pairs of speakers. The rear speakers don't need to be an issue. I can tell you this from experience. It may seem strange at first but it really only negatively effects sound quality, since the tweeters would be firing straight into the seat foam.

If you want the best SQ you can get, an amped pair of component speakers would be what you want. You seem like you want to run from the head unit though, so just a pair of good 6x8's would work (also known as 5x7's). I like to recommend the Pioneer TS-A6874r's since they are rather affordable and 90% of the reviews I see are favorable. Definitely look into those.

As for the head unit, what you get depends on what you want. Try to stick with more trusted quality brands like Pioneer, Kenwood, and JVC. There are a huge number of models available, so to narrow it down it helps to know what you would like. Do you want a single-DIN or double-DIN, CD player, Bluetooth, USB, Pandora capability, HD/satt. radio... and it goes on.

Also, the big question, how much do you want to spend?

Ok then. Yes just the two for the doors is the best thing to do. It helps the SQ as well as your wallet! Here are the Pioneers on Amazon, $41:

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A6874R-A-Series-3-Way-Watts/dp/B004CLYOI2
As for the head, I have a JVC myself, and after playing around with others at stores it seems like JVC's units are the easiest to control. The menus are fairly simple and there aren't a bunch of submenus that you don't know what the heck they are for. I would personally buy another JVC if I was in the market. Like this one

JVC KD-R730BT on Amazon, $90:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HVC6FM/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B006RAGWOK&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1WK1X0MGF13RBVSZ2NWD
Like I said, there are a ridiculous amount of head units out there so if you would feel more comfortable just going to the store to pick one then that's perfectly fine. Pretty much every one of them will have aux/USB these days, so what it comes down to is aesthetics and extras. Unless there is a specific feature you want, or if you like hunting for deals online, buying in person is the better option IMO.

One more thing... if you want some links from more reputable audio sites for reviews and price comparison on what I listed, here they are:

Pioneers: Crutchfield SonicElectronix
JVC: SonicElectronix

The speakers are very easy to install. Just to give you an idea here's a video I made of when I put mine in. I already had my door panels off but that's the only thing I had done. All you have to do is splice the wires together. Make sure + is with + and vice versa. The speakers will come with wires.

The head unit is a little more complicated, but possible. It involves lots of wire stripping and crimping/saudering/heatshrinking or whatever you prefer. You will need to pick up a wiring harness just to make things easier. You should be able to get this at the local parts store.

You will also want to get a Single-DIN dash kit so that the unit will actually fit in the bezel. They have them at Best Buy, but the price my dad paid for one was crazy (for a 99 Mazda Protege, $35). You can get them cheaper online, like this one. It has a pocket.

If you need help when the time comes, there's this forum and also lots of tut's out there. If it all just seems like it would be too much, you could visit a local audio shop (if you have one) and see what they can do for you.

Also just FYI, your signature's BBCode is slightly messed up. Looks like you have a misplaced bracket.

Edit: I just remembered that if you buy a head unit from Crutchfield or Sonic Electronix it comes with some of that stuff I just listed. So buy from this link http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...KD-R730BT.html
