Default System Help? Few Questions?

Currently Im running a JVC Multi Media Head Unit, two Rockford Fosgate 2ohm dvc prime shallow tens in sealed box, powered by a rockford fosgate prime 250.1 monoblock amp. Also a rockford fosgate prime 125.2 2 channel amp is pushing my kenwood excellion 5x8" rear door speakers. I have ran 4g wire from battery to distribution box going to seperate 8g power feeds to amp and each amp grounded with 8g in shortest length possible.

I get great sound and love system but i was wondering if its to much electrical draw on my truck, my battery tested perfect after 6 months of having system in it with no lights dimming or anything. but would a capacitor help it run more efficently? and if so what size capacitor should i run?

im planning on adding in maybe a bigger amp to push my subs as 250.1 is rated 245w rms at 2ohm, and both subs are wired to 2ohm, so im only getting like 120rms ish to each sub when there rated at 200w rms and 400 max.. how big of an amp could i go? or do i have my math wrong somewhere? lol

Are you saying the 2 - DVC 2 ohm subs are wired together as a 2 ohm load on the amp ?

You are under 1000 watts RMS, so you are good to go with your stock alternator. You will never need a capacitor. They are bunk, trash.

Yep really the only time to do the Big 3 upgrade is when you pass around 1000 watts. You're staying under 500 so it's absolutely fine.

Since the subs are rated 200w RMS you need an amp that will deliver at least 400w RMS at 2 ohms. This will make 200w per sub and 100w per voice coil. You should stay as close as possible to the RMS, try to at least meet it but don't exceed it by too much. I have attached a wiring diagram just to make sure you have it wired right.

About your speakers, I wouldn't amp the rear ones. Really the only thing the rears are good for in a truck is fill, just because it's so small and the effect is so little. (In my truck much of the sound is just muffled out by the seats, but I like them there anyway). I would choose the front two to upgrade and amp instead.

Hope this helped you some

essentially, i have both speaker 2ohm dvc, wired to 2ohm load, and both wired up to amp. Making them in series right? atleast i think, thats what it is called, and i know i plan on amping the front speakers when money allows.

but thanks for info guys
