Default my sub enclosure journey

I decided to start a new thread since my other one started getting cluttered up. I'm making an enclosure that will not waste extra space, making every aspect on the interior of my truck still useabale (jump seats/floor space/etc.) I have a 10" shallow mount sub that I'm using (Alpine SWS-1043d). It will be mounted where the jack currently is between the rear seats.

On to the plans. Here's what the box looks like on on a drawing:

The curve on the back it to accommodate for the trim on the top of the rear of the cab. There will also be a 1/2" ring placed on top to give the front of the enclosure a 3D look and to move the sub a little away from the back of the box. Side view will look like this:

I had a little time to work on this thing last night and here are the results:

The glue was still drying so it looks a little uneven, but I still have to sand down all the edges and use some sealant caulk on the inside. I'll work on it more tonight and post some new pics up. Oh the overall volume will give me .77 ft^3 which is on the small side of the sub requirements (req. min of .65), but it will be stuffed with polyfill which I guess makes the sub think the box is about 15% bigger which will give me about .89 ft^3. Again this is not going to be a hard hitting system, just something to give me a little better quality bass. I will also be adding Kenwood Excelon KFC-X682C's up front.

Here's some more update pics:

I Sanded it and test fitted it in the truck.... the blackpole is just so I propped it against the back wall, which I still have to figure out how I'm going to mount it to the back wall because if I just mount it to the floor it will come away from the wall. Sorry for the crappy pics but it's cold outside so I pulled it in my little garage and had to use the flash on my camera phone, which isn't the greatest. overall I think it came out good, the carpet will hide some of the little imperfections I hope, lol. I'm surprised at how heavy this little box actually came out.... it's not going anywhere

made some more progress, not box related, but I started on the wiring. Did the whole negative/ground side of the battery and added by stinger battery terminal:

and the extra ground I added:

ps. I don't know why, but I drove around the block and the volt gauge was showing 14.4 volts the entire time, where before the neg. upgrade, it showed 14.2 at the most...

Great work! You should bolt that thing right to the back of the cab. That way insurance has to cover it if its stolen (assuming you have theft).

sorry this has been put on the back burner right now, I just had a lot of stuff take care for my company because I purchased all new equipment and we're expanding, so that has taken up pretty much all of my time right now... soon though, it will be done!

I like that box. I've always wanted to put my box between my jump seats to free up the space behind my drivers seat (where my box is now).

Hey Fx4, like i said i'm gonna do pretty much the same thing you're doin, and I was just wondering what you did with the plastic panel right there. The part that holds the jack cover, did cut it out or what? it takes up alot of room for the box. Let me know.
Thanks.
