I decided to start a new thread since my other one started getting cluttered up. I'm making an enclosure that will not waste extra space, making every aspect on the interior of my truck still useabale (jump seats/floor space/etc.) I have a 10" shallow mount sub that I'm using (Alpine SWS-1043d). It will be mounted where the jack currently is between the rear seats.
On to the plans. Here's what the box looks like on on a drawing:
The curve on the back it to accommodate for the trim on the top of the rear of the cab. There will also be a 1/2" ring placed on top to give the front of the enclosure a 3D look and to move the sub a little away from the back of the box. Side view will look like this:
I had a little time to work on this thing last night and here are the results:
The glue was still drying so it looks a little uneven, but I still have to sand down all the edges and use some sealant caulk on the inside. I'll work on it more tonight and post some new pics up. Oh the overall volume will give me .77 ft^3 which is on the small side of the sub requirements (req. min of .65), but it will be stuffed with polyfill which I guess makes the sub think the box is about 15% bigger which will give me about .89 ft^3. Again this is not going to be a hard hitting system, just something to give me a little better quality bass. I will also be adding Kenwood Excelon KFC-X682C's up front.
