I put the amp under/behind the driver seat. when the seat is in my driving position it covers it.

I like it, I have been so tied up with work.. I did mount my amp and carpet the box already so I'm getting there... how did you end up attaching the box to the back wall? I havn't looked into it yet.

your box looks good... however (and i hate to be that guy but) it looks like you have your carpet inside out. Its an easy mistake to make.

This thread is awesome!
Exactly what ive been looking for. I was planning on doing the same in my 09, and couldnt find any pics anywhere.

01 Ranger's setup looks super clean and totally factory looking.

Just wondering if you guys had to cut anything out from the original jack and rod holder? I am planning on making the bottom plate and back piece from MDF and then going to fibreglass the sub onto that. Being an 09 the truck is still under warranty and I dont want to void too much of that haha. Anything that would be cut out from the rear panel will be covered by the enclosure once installed of course.

Any update on the pics of your install?

I have not done anything since wrapping the box... been working for 7 days straight for the past couple months, so I don't have too much free time yet, but yes, I had to cut some plastic out of the jack support to fit the enclosure there flat against the wall.

Ok great. I wanted to start the template today but my wife has the truck, otherwise I could have just walked out to check.

I will snap some pictures once I get going as well and keep this thread updated.

I'm in the process of taking your design slightly changing it to hold my 8" Sub (bought for $4 lol) and Amp (don't have an amp just yet). Anything I should know about that you might have came across that you wish you changed?

Only use MDF for sub enclosures. Port size/length depends on the individual sub and the box size. But yes, you can port any box/sub.

Your 8" sub will be way better off in a sealed box correctly sized for it.

hey fx4, did you ever get around to finishing this project? I'm looking into doing something similar.. although the back seat behind the drivers seat is absolutely pointless being i sit back far and no ones ever going to fit there. Thinking of removing it and making a larger box to accommodate for an amp as well.

any one else do anything like this?? i've searched but found minimal

I prefer 11 or 13 ply voidless finish grade Birch or AC ply. Stronger, and lighter than MDF and doesn't put off as much dust as MDF does. It is a touch more expensive, and can splinter out easier when screwing if you aren't careful (if you predrill like you should and run the screws properly you won't have any issue anyway).

Box looks good, great idea for those wanting to save space for sure. Sorry if I missed it, but what equipment are you using OP?
