they will be fine there too, putting the tweeter as close as possible to the woofer creates a better sound stage IMO, thats the reason for my location.

You are a smart one !

Not dis-ing your installation, looks great ! I was thinking of putting them higher in the door panels so that the left one would point more directly toward the passenger head.
I'm not a fan of oval speakers. I believe better sound quality can be had from rounds. I'm not saying that there isn't good sounding ovals though.

I'm completely aware of the drastic difference between the sound quality of the Polks pushed with an amplifier vs headunit power. I plan on amplifying them at a later date.

I have to disagree with you about round vs oval. There is no good argument to back up your theory that oval speakers give sub-par performance to round. I bet in a blind test, you wouldn't be able to tell which speakers playing were 6.5" and which were 6x8.

maybe I've just never heard a good, or properly implemented, set of oval speakers.. but for that reason, I favor round speakers. it's a personal preference...

I bought these...not from Crutchfield though. Just the quickest place I could think of to get a link. I purchased mine from a local audio shop for the price of the model below these Which was a a great deal. These are AWESOME super clean speakers!!

Also put in this amp to power them again quickest link...bought it local for less.

Thanks...it is even that much more impressive sounding considering I left the stock 6-CD changer/radio in there and added added those speakers and the amp to it. crazy loud and clean sound. Took a little bit of adjusting on the amp to get it where I wanted/liked it. May add a small bass tube to it some day...not sure though as it is putting out good bass levels and I don't listen to the type of music that requires it more. But as of now it is more than enough sound/quality wise.
