I'm new to the FRF and new to vehicle sound systems. I purchased a Kenwood 12" subwoofer KFC-W3013 1200W Peak 400RMS 4ohm and I don't know what amp to buy, someone suggested 600W Kicker or Alpine, what do you think??
Also, I need a good box to fit my Ranger. I would like to get a down-fire box to save room in my ext cab but doesn't matter too much as long as it sounds decent.

That is probably the best box you could buy in your situation.

Oh good to hear. I've been reading up on boxes that more air space inside is better for clean sound(small sub:big box > big sub:small box). Also if it has an angled side, it's supposed to make a huge difference. But, I don't think I want to go any bigger than this.

The specs on that Kenwood sub show to be:

Recommended Enclosure Type Ported / Vented or Sealed
Minimum Sealed Box Volume 1.25 cubic feet
Maximum Sealed Box Volume 1.75 cubic feet

Minimum Ported Box Volume 2.0 cubic feet
Maximum Ported Box Volume 2.5 cubic feet

The specs shown on the ebay auction are for a 12" Sub box, but they list specs for a 10" (woops copy paste issue)

May wanna double check before ordering

check www.halfpriceaudio.com too they have 3/4 MDF boxes for rangers as well.

Check this for a very good amp with alot of features that will power your sub very nicely
