JL Audio two 10s w/ Alpine 500w amp
Here is my audio system that i got installed a couple of weeks ago from Ken's Car Tunes, a local audio shop. Grand total was $850 installed and everything for the amp, two 10's in a sealed box, and a new head unit.
Sony 640UI Head Unit
Alpine 500 watt amp installed under the seat
JL Audio two 10 inch subwoofers in a sealed box facing backwards
The subs faced up so you can see them
feel free to ask any questions or request more pictures

Looks like a very bulky setup. IMHO, you should have got a custom box made.

Not a fan of the HU, sony's never really made a decent HU IMO.
Love that alpine amp though. Alpine makes quality electronics.

Actually, subs facing backward produces the best bass in a ranger due to limited cab space. When you wanna bump, crack the windows, allows the bass to exit the vehicle better, eliminating vacuum pressures.

i was told by a audio installer at a shop to do that. the floor is the best because it is the strongest in the cab. it will reflect the bass waves better then the rear of the cab will. just wat i was told

thanks, about the alpine amp. i like it to. as for the head unit i didnt really do much research on head units. i didnt really feel like getting into it and i honestly didnt care except i wanted it to be blue and i wanted it to have ipod connection. a friend of mine had that one and i liked it because it was very simple, clean, and blue haha and i got it for $100 so..

1. i agree with tre that rear facing is better. everyone who i have ever talked to says that rear facing is the way to go but i dunno rangers might be different but i doubt it. either way they hit way harder than i need so i dont need that extra bump even if it is available
