Default Audio Setup For a 99 Ranger

Hello, Im looking to put an aftermarket speaker system in my 99 ford Ranger, I have no clue on what to buy, what i need to buy. I really don't want to spend tons of money on speakers. I want something that will "hit hard". It a Regular Cab ranger so there really not much room in there. But, please help me out. I need to know: What i need, whats the best bang for the buck!, How much will the total set-up cost (aprox.), where i can buy the stuff and any other information you think would be helpful. Thanks so much in advance.

rockford fosgate speakers with an amp

I have some, and those suckers hit like crazy. I have bass enhancer turned on on my head unit, and when the speakers hit, I can feel it through the seat, on my back. its insane

The best setup in a regular cab small truck (unless you want to modify things alot) is a set of component speakers in the front and a single sealed 10" subwoofer behind the seat. You can power it all with a 4 channel amp. Quality and price is very widely varied.

So you would recommended a separate boxed 10" woofer instead of replacing the rear speakers with some nicer woofers?

The rear speakers you will barely hear if at all with a nice set of component up front and a sub behind the seat, so the cost effective solution is to ignore them, unless they are blown then simply disconnect them.
