horn going off when trying to connect battery
SO I was trying to install a aftermarket headunit tonight and followed the directions. Before I started with it I disconnected the negative terminal like I do before doing anything electrical. I installed the headunit and went to connect the negative terminal and the horn/alarm keeps going off until I disconnect the battery again. Please help. I am a complete noob to the Ranger

depending on year, there could be a anti-theft system in your stock radio.
that or ya just need to turn the ignition on as soon as you connect the battery. if you dont wanna make sound, disconnect the horn plug

It is a 2004 with apparently PATS as the truck will not start at all. The gauges turn on but the truck wont start.
