Default Parking break bypass

So I'm gonna install my new stereo, following instructions on here.

Says a 12 v relay to use for parking break bypass, will my old flasher relay work?

Why do you need a parking brake bypass for a stereo?

What does electonics have anything to do with a mechanical parking brake?

All aftermarket DVD head units require the parking break to be on in order to work... It's the law.

My goodness I should not have asked this question here.

Oh lord.
Do you know how to read?

I already know how.
I'm just asking if a flasher relay will work or not. Gosh.

We are asking a serious question. Why the hell do you need a flasher to be able to twist three wires together?

Also it is parking BRAKE not break. You ask us if we know how to read. I ask do you know how the hell to spell?

It did not work. Some guy on here did it with my exact unit and used a 12v relay and it worked.
Simply asking if the flasher relay will work.

And autocorrect did that, bit different than totally missing the point of my thread. Why is everyone here so stupid or angry?

Not stupid or angry, you did not explain why you would need a 12V relay to be able to get it to work so we were not able to figure out why you were asking what to us, was a stupid question. Now that you have explained yourself. What type of flasher relay are you referring to? The one that is under the dash or the one in the relay/fuse box in the engine compartment. The one in the engine compartment should work, the one under the dash will not.

Just a normal relay will work. If it is the actual flasher module that has a timed shutoff tthen it wont work.
the radio will search for a ground before it will play DVDs. If this wire is grounded before you turn it to DVD mode, it wont play. Therefore it has to be a switched ground.
You don't have to use a relay, a simple toggle switch will work.
