Default Center Console box

I have been thinking about this for a while now, and I really want some mid range in my system. I want to put an 8" sub in, and would like to put it in a ported box in place of the center console.

I will custom make the box (obviously, as far as I know, no one makes center console boxes for rangers.) but I was mainly wondering if anyone out there has done this before? And would I be able to fit an 8 in between the seats? I'd like to have it facing forward or upward.

If anyone has tried or successfully done this before, explain or post pics please!

If you are wanting an 8" subwoofer bandpassed (not a bandpass box) you will need good crossovers and an amp, but no need for a ported box. A sealed box would be better and can be smaller. Shouldn't be a problem with the fit. Between your head (depending on the audio settings available) and the amp you will use, might not be a need for another crossover.

Well, with the 8 that i'll be getting, for a sealed box it needs .23 cubic feet, and the ported box needs .65 cubic feet. I know, that's more than double (almost triple) the size of the sealed box, BUT, the center console that's in the truck now is .85 cubic feet, leaving me plenty of room for the ported box.

If you are leaving your 2 Kenwood subs in the truck, then you will want the 8" playing higher frequencies than the Kenwoods and playing lower frequencies than your full range speakers. There is no point in the 8" enclosure having a port for the frequencies you will want it to play at. (midbass)

Makes sense. I should be able to save a lot of room by doing a sealed box.
