Questions about Stock Stereo System before Upgrade
Ok. So i just got my 2005 Ranger Regular Cab and sadly, i have the stock of stock AM/FM radio, no CD. So i am looking to upgrade it pretty soon, with speakers and probably a small sub later to follow. The other day, i decided to take the stock head unit out of the dash, just to see what i was dealing with, and some of the wires in the harness don't match the forum sticky diagrams, for example, i can not find the 12v accessory switched wire. I have a red/black and a black/red wire and a couple others. So i cam at a loss of what is up with this. Also, the Grey connector that is just laying in there is for what??
Secondly, I don't believe that i have any sort of premium sound package, but when i took the rear speaker grilles off to check if the wires were there, i was pleasantly surprised to find that there were not only wires ran, stock i believe, but also speakers installed, also stock it seems. However, they do not run when the stereo is running. Is this because there is no fade option or what?? Also, does anyone know why there would be stock speakers there and apparently hooked up if they do not operate?
Thanks for the assistance
