Just a 400 watt dual. Nothing huge but it does what I want it to.

If you tell me the model number I can tell you if it is a good match. I
Being a Dual, I am sure it doesn't make 400 watts, but that's OK, cause the Kicker subwoofer you have only handles 150 watts RMS. Is it a 2 channel or mono amp ? I am sure it makes over 150 watts, surely, so if I know what amp it is I can show you how to use a DMM and limit it's output to 150 watts or so. If you already know all this, I apologize.

Thanks!
The model number is xpe2700, and it's a two channel.
I know a few things about speakers and amps, but not very much. So any tips would be great!

Dual claims 150 watts x 1 to a 4 ohm load, which you have, and it should make since it has a 30 amp fuse installed. So, good match, really, even tho I don't like Dual. Just be sure you have good 8 gauge power and ground wires going to it with 30-60 amp main fuse (no larger unless you have larger power wire) 18" or closer to the battery and at least 16 gauge speaker wire from the amp to the sub/box.

If you want to be sure the sub is not getting more than 150 watts RMS, you can set the bridged output from the amp with a DMM and look for no more than 24.5 VAC at the speaker output terminals. Your head should be set at around 3/4's volume playing a 45 hz test tone, bass boost off, LPF set around 100 hz (probably about 9 or 10 oclock on the amp knob). Then just adjust the gain knob until you get 24.5 volts AC on the DMM, no more. You are using the stock head, correct ?
