Default Replacement Radio for 2006 Sport with iPod/iPhone control.

I am looking for an OEM Ford Ranger head unit for my 2006 Ford Ranger that can control my iPod / iPhone and display text / change playlists, etc. I like the factory look.

My current one does not have external CD or AUX input. I have been advised I could probably use the F606CDM or F606CD6M from replacementradios.com . Then combine it with the FRDN-POD/S iPod interface also on that same website or a PIE interface. I believe with some patience, I can find a much better deal than what is listed there. I see more modern radios on Craigslist in my area for $100 - $150.

Anyone have an idea of what Ford OEM part number the above units are? Or any other suggestions?

Below is the head unit currently in my truck.

Don't waste your time with the OEM heads.

Anything iPhone 4s compatible is gonna be DVD or NAV, other than the above. There are alot of iPod compatible digital media recievers without cd and alot of iPod compatible cd recievers that are full DD size that look good, better than OEM, but they aren't iPhone compatible.

GLH,

Thanks! That looks really cool and I am going to consider it.

Is it just me or did the guy in the video not seem very excited or maybe he was just tired.

Do you have this installed? Crutchfield says it is a modified fit for me. Do you have pictures?

No. Mine is the Pioneer PH-F8000BT, circa 2008.

The 'modified fit' they are considering might be filing or sandpapering a 16th inch on the inside edge of the surround/bezel.

I gotta look, I think JVC just came out with some new iPhone compatible heads...

think so ...
