Default Front Speaker Mounting Depth

I'm too lazy to rip my door panel off - does anyone know the depth they have on their front doors from the factory?

Need to know depth from where the speaker mounts until it hits a bracket or the window.

Get speakers that are listed to fit.

Cant do that, then it won't keep up with my substage!

I went ahead and ordered my mids, I'm 99% sure they'll fit. Stock 6x8's have a 3" mounting depth so I should be fine at 3.7"

Question Re: Front Speaker Mounting Depth

"Cant do that, then it won't keep up with my substage!"

I beg to differ.

2011 Ext Cab Sport.

Rear speakers are going to be disconnected as they'll serve no purpose.

And no, I don't believe many commercially available(and damn sure not in my price range) will keep up with my sub stage.

Properly amped, YES, they will !

What is 'substage' anyway ? You mean your subwoofer system. Soundstage is used in the wrong way sooo much nowadays. A 'soundstage' is the entire system sound. You want the soundstage to be front and center, with the lowbass seeming to come from dash center and under the headunit, and the mids above that, and the highs above the dash but below the rearviewmirror. Correct soundstage will have all the sound seeming to come from around the area of the headunit.

Please don't take me for rude, but I know a few things about audio. I am going to try something that I personally think will work - but we'll see how bad the staging is.

Sub stage is just that - low end, par se 60hz and under, roughly.

Single 18" subwoofer and a little bit of power. And trust me, I cannot afford a component set to take the power to keep up.
