What's your setup? I have 2 12" subs that are running on a 1000w Amp. No problems and they have been going since 2009.

Im guessing that those subs are SVC 300 watt. so, they can be wired for a 2ohm load. This means you need to have an amp that puts out 600w at 2ohm. Dont go anything bigger or you will blow the subs.

Here, look at THIS

It's fine, man. Not a problem.

Yeah, what he said above me. Stop at 600w.

That depends on your sub type. If your subs can handle and pull the watts at the given ohms, then your fine.

no, it could be DVC, SVC, 4ohm, 2ohm. That all plays a part in how many watts it will draw from the amp.

You can easily run a 300w 12 from a 1000w amp. If its SVC, 4ohm. It would only draw 1/4 of the power from the amp. Say you have a 1 ch. 1000w amp, with a 4ohm load, it would only draw 250w of power, 5o watts below the 300

An 800 watts RMS amp will be OK, if you set the gain with a DMM for 600 watts output. Not sure you can set any 1000 watt amp to only output 600 watts.

NO.

The subs are 300 watts RMS each. They are SVC 4 ohm each. Wired together properly, they will present a 2 ohm load to the amp. Any amp will 'see' the same 2 ohm load, regardless what the amp's power output is.

Ok, I looked up the specs of your amp. It puts out 300w at 2ohms to 1ch. This means you are supplying 150w to each of your subs. You will need to get a bigger amp. You need an amp that puts out 600w at 2ohm load.

Still assuming your subs are svc 4ohm.

----------

the other problem, you paid way to much for that kit.

----------

How bout you give us the numbers right from the sub. The site says 3oow for the pair, so 150w each.... that seems really low for subs

The set he is looking at has 2 subs in boxes, 150 watts RMS each, 4 ohms. The amp puts out 300 watts RMS to 2 ohms. Just right. He has what he needs right there. What's up ?
