Got an amp and bought subs, Need help.
Hey guys I went and got some CHEAP small subs. Its a scosche full range speaker system, 2 6.5 woofers 2 2'' tweeters in a box 300W max 100W rated. 2 terminals on the box, one right and one left. Now my amp is a kenwood KAC 529, its bridgeable (120x1) And regular is (60x2) at 2 ohms. However the subs are 4 ohm, so Im thinking putting 2 negatives, and 2 positives into the bridged side (need 2 negative/positive for the 2 terminals on box.) And that should bring it down to 60W each, Correct? But it should only be around 40W from 2ohm to 4ohm, correct? Seem like a good idea?

While it is possible to bridge it as you stated above, I wouldn't on that setup. The main reason is that since its a full range system, you'll want to preserve STEREO (left, right) because a bridged connection would cause you to lose that (mono). You can always wire it up each way and compare the difference. That's my two cents worth.

I don't think those Scosche woofers are subwoofers. Pretty sure what you have there is a component speaker system mounted on a box. The amp does 40 watts RMS x 2 into 4 ohms, and that is how you should wire it to the box. Each speaker side of the box should be 4 ohms.
You can get better speakers to fit your doors than those are, btw. A pair of Pioneer coaxial speakers should sound good with 40 watts RMS each, in the doors.

Re: Got an amp and bought subs, Need help.
Im working on getting an 8" sub back there, having fitment issues, and this fit so I bought it, when I get the sub Ill put this in my room. But yeah, Ill just do it with left right instead of bridged. Thanks. Hopefully I can get a subwoofer soon. But this should hopefully add bass to the truck. Any other guys with regular cabs got subs? Beside Bazooka tubes.

Re: Got an amp and bought subs, Need help.
I have a 6.5" Bazooka bridged to a Kicker 150w amp in mine. To be honest, it really doesn't look like much but for the size it pounds. You would think that it just kind of accents the speakers and makes a fuller deeper sound but I think it does a little better than that...
...unless of course you have heard one before and you didn't like it ;P
By the way, I was going to put a 10" Kicker in there (got a sweet deal) but it didn't fit well even without an enclosure. I couldn't sacrifice the leg room. If you want to just totally stay away from the tubes and you don't want your seat very far up, you might look into the shallow subs. Something like this might be what you want.
