Default Sub Box Alternatives and Speaker Help

Okay, I have a 2001 Ranger XLT and last night I purchased 4 PioneerAS672R's To replace my Factory speakers which are starting to rattle and need a De-Comm. I also purchased a Sony 10" Xplod for 60$ while I was there.

Now I need to find a good, but cheap box to use in my truck that WONT render my jump seats useless. I can deal with one seat being used but I need at least one seat working. (I can use the middle on the front row.)

I found a box for 80$ on ebay but it sits rather high and would be rather uncomfortable for someone in the seat because of the need to put your legs over it, but if it comes to it I will go with that...

Does anyone know of any boxes that take up little space and whether a 5 Channel Amp would be worth it for the 4 speakers and sub, or should a single channel for the sub be enough? And where would the best spot a amp be?

Thanks.

I would reccomend that you build a box. If you have a hand saw and handheld drill and know how to use them, then you should be fine. Building my box took about 4-5 hours, but others have done it in much less time. Also should cost less than $50.
This is a very good guide on building boxes.

I didn't find a reccomended box size, but for a sealed box, about 1 cubic foot is plenty.

As for the amp- Do not run a 5 channel amp. It takes more energy to move the larger cone on your subwoofer than the speakers. Idealy you would have a single amp for the sub, and a 4 channel for the speakers. The speaker amp is not required and many people go without them. I currently do not have a speaker amp, but it is on the christmas list.

These are the boxes I had in my truck. Im actually trying to sell them now. They were easy to remove and utilize the jump seats or just one jump seat

Im going to put two 10" subs in my ranger. My plan is to build a little box that fits under the jump seats with them down and have the be the same size as the seats so the box doesn't stick out and get kicked by people getting in the back. Then i going to put the amps under the front seats and run the wires under the carpet.

Ice Gaint ? Did you mean Giant ?

Anyway... You want 2 small sealed downfire boxes or 1 box going across ? Either should be easy to do with the right subwoofers. You only need 1 mono amp to power both, however. Are you also amping the door speakers ?

or you could do like what someone did in another thread build a box that goes in the middle of the back. behind the center section of the front seats and comes up that way you can use both seats. there will be a box in the mid but seats will still work
