Check your ground wires, my amp did the same thing and thats what is was. It was just loose and the amp pulling more power just killed it

You put polyfill in a sub box to trick the sub into performing as if it is in a larger box.

I've never put polyfill in a sealed box.. I've only used it in a port to reduce the baffly airy sound.

Quit using Poly Fill. Build the box to specs and do it the right way.

My boxes are to spec, actually i have over the minimum size recommended. Plus it dampens the sounds of inside the box and lets you hear the bass more. Great if you are limited on space as i am.

Building a ported box to specs also means you are tuning it with the correct size and length port.

It can't be built to spec and also over sized.

Nothing about poly in a box means cheap build.

I've always used it, in boxes that i built to spec for the speaker, it makes those lows just a little better in a sealed box.

Cheap build? I think not, I've built 145+ setups for customers with ported boxes and used polyfill.

Sounds like your amp is toast.

I have a question if it's only on hard hits that it shuts off and its not getting hot, how good is the connection on your remote wire or is it possibly frayed?
