Default Head unit, no power

I got a problem. I tried hooking up my head luck. I plugged the ignition wire into the ignition wire on the radio, and I plugged in the memory wire into the memory on the radio.Next is the problem. There was a wire hanging out of the dash with a fuse on the end. Here, i found out its leading to the fuse box, so I plugged that into the 12v for the radio and only the back light on the radio came on. So I unhooked that and the red wire bumped the ignition wires hooked together and i noticed the radio fully powered on. Hooked all three together though I was in luck the radio came on fully then I smelled something burning, looked down and yep...smoke lol. I don't understand.

What I hope to do- Paint wheels, new head unit, exhaust, fix four wheel drive.

you will need power to yellow and red and a ground, one will be a switched power and the memory should be 12V all the time.
