Default Antenna connector

I am planning to change the radio in my 2006 Ranger. It is the stock basic, not even rear speakers. I added the rear speakers and wires and am ordering a dash kit and wiring harness online but got two different answers about the antenna connectors. One says I need an adapter for Ford to standard connector and another says I don't. Does anyone know what the truck uses? Thanks.

What radio are you getting?

I thought antennas had a pretty universal connector. Maybe not...

I've never see a different AM/FM antenna connector on a vehicle in the last 20 years. I think you'll be fine.

yep. the standard car radio antenna in any car uses a Motorola connector, Rangers included. like Matt said, I've never seen a car radio that used anything else.

thats a little trick that radio sales man use to pay for there lunch or beer after work. that hope you never catch on. how much do you think it cost for the adapter $20 maybe $40 not a penny. you end up paying for some one to get a 12 pack on you
