Default Amateur Needing Some Help Setting Up a System

So im interested in changing my stock deck and adding 2 subs and an amp. The amp can come at a later time.

For the deck, im looking at a Pioneer FH-P8000BT Double Din

For the subs, I plan to use 2 10" 2010 model Kickers sold with separate sub box's link.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/93-03-Ford-R...#ht_718wt_1163

With the specs of the deck, would these subs work? And what would be a good amp. I'm hoping to do this without huge amounts of work such as replacing speaker wires.

your gunna need an amp to run the subs. the deck will work but you have to trim the bezel to make it fit. and personally id just build your own box... not worth dropping 200$ on two small boxes that you can make and carpet for under 40$ use that 160$ u saved from building boxes instead of buying and buy an amp the amp depends on what model subs you get along with what impedence the voice coil is

That headunit will work fine. But don't think you can run subs off of the headunit until you can afford an amp because that will NOT work. Also, just build yourself a box. You'll spend roughly $35 on a sheet of MDF and if you want it to look clean you can pick up some carpet off of Ebay for around $20.

walmart (and i think best buy) sell sub boxes that are already carpeted and mostly assembled, you just fold them up and put the side pieces in then screw together. cost my room mate like $20 for a 12" box.

also you will need an amp. why do you want 2 subs? 1 should be enough if the amp is tuned right. for 2 subs, look for a 500-600 watt 2 channel amp.

wiring for the head unit will need an adapter plug to go from the stock harness to the new HU. they're cheap and easy to find at most electronics stores (best buy, walmart). since you are not changing out the door/rear speakers then you can leave all that stock wiring. however for the sub you will need a power and ground kit, a L&R RCA cable, a thin remote wire, and then speaker wire to get from the amp to the sub(s).

also check out audiosavings.com, i picked up my 10" sub off there for $54 shipped a few years ago, and just got a 500 watt 4 channel amp for my door speakers for $109 shipped with all wiring needed to hook it up (except speaker wire).

Sounds like you guys have got this one on lock! I would look into getting after maret speakers when you can afford them, They make a huge difference in sound, unless your just into it for the big BOOM!
